You don’t need a complicated design to get creative in Affinity. Sometimes, changing the colours is enough to spark a new idea.
Try this little exercise:
- Draw a simple shape—a heart, flower or circle.
- Make two copies so you have three matching shapes.
- Give each one a different colour combination.
Try soft pink and cream for a gentle look, orange and plum for an autumn feel, or turquoise and yellow for something cheerful.
Keep the shape the same and notice how the colours change its personality. Which version would you choose for a greeting card, gift tag or scrapbook page?
If a blank screen feels daunting, this is a lovely place to start. You’re making one small choice at a time.
